Mrs. Edna M. McDowell was born in Landrum, South Carolina on October 10, 1956.

She was the daughter of the late Pastor Viola M. Watson and Mr. Edward “Bud” Watson.

The life of sister Edna McDowell came to a close on Friday, May 22, 2026. Sister Edna was faithful at helping her mother, the late Viola Watson at Campobello Mission F.B.H Church over 27 years.

Sister Edna was joined in Holy Matrimony to the Love of her Life, her high school sweetheart, Mr. Michael McDowell. They shared blissful years together. They have several God Children. She had a heart to give, a love for family and friends that were unquestionable.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Veree Watson and Susie M. Jackson; brothers, Charles Watson, Robert Watson, J. Watson; brothers-in-law, C D Jackson; and sisters-in-law, Maggie Watson and Ionia Watson.

Left to Cherish fond and loving memories, her husband, Michael McDowell; her loving brother, Mr. Samuel (Janice)Watson; brothers-in-law, Harrison (Paulette) McDowell, Boyce McDowell Jr.; and sister-in-law, Tecora (Converse) Good. She left a host of God-Children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many many friends who loved her dearly.

Edna will be missed by all who loved her.

A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC.

The Family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Burial will follow the service at Mills Chapel Cemetery, 313 N Randolph Ave, Landrum, SC 29356.
