CAMPOBELLO, SC -- Edgar Phillip Davidson, 89, of Campobello Gramling School Rd., Campobello, SC died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC.Born in Polk County, NC he was the son of the late John Crawford and Ida Belle Wilhelm Davidson. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Navy. He was a member of Jeff L. Nelson Masonic Lodge # 605. Mr. Davidson was a retired textile employee and was a member of Redeemed Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ola C. Vassey Davidson. Two sons, Timothy Davidson (Dorothy) of Landrum, SC and Sidney Davidson (Terry) of Shelby, NC. One daughter, Jackie Wade (Wm. T."Skip") of Taylors, SC. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Edgar P. Davidson, Jr. who died in 1996.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Bill Walker and Rev. Steve Wise officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.Burial will be in Mtn. Page Baptist Church Cemetery. Saluda, NC with military rites by Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.Memorials may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.The family will be at the home of a son Timothy Davidson, 402 S.
