Obituary
Rutherfordton, NC- Dwight Ward Laughter, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Born in Polk County, he was one of thirteen children. Dwight was a hard worker and spent most of his career working in the textile industry. He was a loving husband, a proud father of three girls, and a gentle loving Poppy. He was a faithful member of The Pentecostals of Spartanburg.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents General Dewitt Laughter and Mary Belle Raines Laughter and a grandson, Parker Tran.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Deborah Anne Laughter, three daughters, Sandy Ramsey (Aaron), Kimberly Wilks (Gregory) and Melinda Tran (Michael); seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Aiven, Rylen, Ezra, Grayson, Payton, and Joel; and three sisters, Barbara, Glenda and Kathy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at The Pentecostals of Spartanburg, 561 Upper Valley Falls Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 officiated by Reverend Larry Wilks.
Burial will follow the service at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC.
