Obituary
Douglas Wayne Higgins, age 77, a lifelong resident of Green Creek, NC passed away on December 3, 2024.
Douglas was greatly blessed by God, his family and faithful friends throughout his life. Military service was the beginning of his adult life, serving in the Army, followed by a career in law enforcement. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Landrum, SC. He had a zest for life and remained active.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ruth Higgins, and a sister, Jean Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Pauline G. Higgins; son, Joseph Higgins; grandson, Alex Higgins; granddaughter, Abby Higgins; sister, Ann Jolley; brother, Henry Higgins and his wife Judy. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Grace Baptist Church in Landrum, SC with Reverend Nick Vance officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm.
