COLUMBUS, NC -- Dorothy Coker Way, 93, of Columbus, NC passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2015 in Givens Estates, Asheville, NC.Born in Andrews, SC, she was the daughter of the late Forest Eugene and Dicey Ann Coker and widow of Rev. Robert Bradford Way who died in 2013. She moved to Columbus in 2007 coming from Travelers Rest, SC. Mrs. Way was a member of Columbus United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Pinckney Way, III.Surviving is one son, Rev. Robert B. Way, Jr. of Pittsboro, NC; one daughter, Dorothy W. "Essie" Martin of Columbus, NC. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Holly Hill Cemetery, Holly Hill, SC with Rev. Robert B. Way, Jr. officiating under the direction of Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, SC.Memorials may be made to Children of Fallen Soldiers, 8 Via Sonrisa, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.
