Dorothy Moffat Eargle, 90, passed away on January 1, 2026. She is proceeded in death by Roy Eargle, her husband of over 60 years, daughter Ruchia Moran, and son Grier Eargle.

Dotty's passions were gardening, cooking, traveling, music and her beloved family. She trained in Opera in Germany for five years. After her studies the family moved to Alexandria, VA. They had an antique business in Alexandria, and Dotty loved to refurbish furniture. In the early eighties the family moved to Saluda, NC, where Roy and Dotty ran a Bed and Breakfast, The Woods House for many years. Dotty was very active in her community. She was a part of starting the Senior Center, in Saluda, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Thrift Barn. You could always find her downtown walking her dog, Huddy, or sitting on a bench talking with the locals. She has always been active in her church, singing in the choir for many years.

Dotty leaves behind five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Saluda, NC on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a favorite charity.
