Beloved Dorothi L. Beteta, accepted Christ in her life at an early age, she married Carlos P. Beteta,

Dorothi was awarded her Bachelor of Science in nursing and then her Master of Science in nursing. Dorothi was a proud member of the Chi Eta Phi Sorority, INC. (FAM U Chapter). Throughout her adult life she served many others as a health care professional in the state of Connecticut, Florida and North Carolina. Dorothi loved her patients and coworkers. Her mission was to help serve God’s children. Dorothi and her family were proud members of Columbus Baptist Church, where Dorothi faithfully attended as her health would allow.

Proceeded in her passing was her mother Harriet Franklin, she is survived by her husband Carlos Beteta, and her children, daughter Jwana, God daughter Soniqe, son Jamal, son Tony, stepson Matthew (Tammy wife), sister Emmy, sisters in law Vivian, and Michelle, brother-in-law David. Two grandchildren Jilani, Jasaan and their mother Kohlbi. Her surviving Aunt Carolyn, Aunt Pat, Aunt Harriet, Aunt Anne and Uncle Alexander (Tony). Dorothi was an only child, but had adopted many as sisters, including Beverly, Debbie, Faye, Carolyn, Roxanne, Aneita, Shuana and she is also survived by a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends without naming, she loved you all unconditionally during the life that she lived. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Columbus Baptist Church, 45 Houston Road, Columbus, NC 28722 officiated by Pastor Earl McDonald.

Food will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.
