Dorothi Lee Beteta, age 62, of Columbus, NC passed on to heaven, Thank You Jesus! on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from her battle with cancer.

Dorothi was born in New York City, New York and was the daughter of the late Harriet Pearl Perryman(maiden), Franklin (named).

Dorothi was awarded her Bachelor of Science in nursing and also received her Masters of Science in nursing. Dorothi was a well-regarded Nurse Practitioner, working in Connecticut, Florida and North Carolina. Dorothi loved her patients and coworkers saving a multitude of lives over her 26 year career. Her mission was to help serve God’s children.

Dorothi and her family were proud members of Columbus Baptist Church, where Dorothi faithfully attended as her health would allow.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carlos; two sons, JaMaal and Anthony (NC); one daughter, J’Wana (NC); one goddaughter, Sonique (GA); nine sisters, Beverly (TN), Debbie (CA), Vivian (NC), Michelle (NY), Faye (NY), Carolyn (CT), Roxanne (CT), Aneita (FL) and Shauna (NY) and two grandchildren, Jasaan, Jilani, and their mother, Kohlbi (CT).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Columbus Baptist Church, 45 Houston Road, Columbus, NC 28722 officiated by Pastor Earl McDonald.

Food will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.
