Mill Spring, NC—Doris Harris Laughter, 72, of Mill Spring, NC passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.

Doris was the daughter of the late Curtis Marshall and Mary Zullie Hutchins Harris.  Doris spent her younger years as a homemaker devoting her time to her husband and raising her children.  Once her children were grown, Doris was employed by St. Luke's Hospital and worked in the dietary department for 17 years from 1999 to 2016.  After retirement, she enjoyed being a grandmother, working with her flowers and watching her beautiful roses grow.  Doris was a member of Mill Spring First Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Lee Harris and Steve Harris and two sisters, Tina Parks and Brenda Kay Harris.

Doris is survived by her husband of 44 years, Billy Monroe Laughter; one son, Curtis Talmage Laughter (Patricia) of Sunny View, NC; one daughter, Crystal Laughter Dubay (Gary) of Green Creek, NC, one granddaughter, Miranda LaRae Laughter of Sunny View, and one sister, Teresa Harris of Cowpens, SC.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn and Dr. Tommy Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Burial will follow in Mill Spring First Baptist Church Cemetery.
