Mill Spring, NC -- Doris Green Edwards, 86, of Mill Spring, NC died Wednesday morning, December 6, 2006 in Autumn Care Nursing Center, Saluda, NC. Born in Polk County, NC she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Alice Arledge Green and wife of the late Foch B. Edwards who died in 1984. She attended Mill Spring First Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Jimmy Edwards of Clearwater, FL, Larry Edwards of Mill Spring, NC and Scott Edwards of Mill Spring, NC; four sisters, Josephine Price of Greenville, SC, Stella Searcy of Green Creek, NC, Sybil Keeter of Forest City, NC, and Carolyn Blackwell of Sunny View, NC; three brothers, Clifford Green of Green Creek, NC, Herbert Green of Westminister, SC, and Harold Green of Baltimore, MD, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. A sister Ruth Green preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Dean Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 7, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at McFarland Funeral Chapel.At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, Larry Edwards, 3200 NC Hwy. 108 East., Columbus, NC.
