Obituary
Doris Ann Burnette, 69, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills with her family by her side.
Ms. Burnette was raised in the Mill Spring area and was the daughter of the late Bill Burnette and Donnie Bailey. She was employed by the Rutherford County School System where she worked until her retirement. Ms. Burnette was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed feeding the deer that visited her yard, but greatest joy in life came from being a mother to her son Brandon.
Ms. Burnette is survived by one son, Brandon Burnett of the home; sisters, Denise Burnett of Mill Spring and Debbie Lawter of Rutherfordton and one brother, Kenneth Burnett (Trina) of Mill Spring. Also surviving are nephews, Billy Burnett, Bobby Burnett, Seth Lawter; and one niece Danielle Lawter; great nieces Daniyah Norman, and Isabel Burnett; and a great nephew King Norman
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for the love and care they provided.
A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, North Carolina officiated by Pastor Todd Lawter.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 pm.
Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
