Mill Spring, NC—Doreen Lynn (Cali) Long, 54, passed away at Spartanburg Medical Center on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Doreen was the daughter of the late Geraldine Elizabeth Kavanagh Smith. Doreen and her husband, Eddie moved from Florida to Polk County, North Carolina 30 years ago to raise their family. Doreen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. Doreen was currently employed at Demmel INC. in Flat Rock, NC. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was her biggest enjoyment in life.

In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brother, Tommy Cali.

Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Edward "Eddie" Jackson, Long of Mill Spring, NC; two daughters, Jessica Holt of Mill Spring, NC and Larissa Smith (Luke) of Belmont, NC; one son, Randy Long (Samantha) of Tryon, NC; three grandchildren, Dakota Long, Elizabeth Cole, and Jacob Holt and three sisters, Lorraine of Delaware, Cindy of Bradenton, FL and Lisa of Bradenton, Fl. Also surviving are many nieces of nephews.

Doreen was able to give the gift of life to others by being an organ donor.

The family will hold private services at a later date.
