SALUDA, NC - Donald E. O'Kelley of Saluda, NC passed away Thursday morning, August 18, 2011 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born in Buncombe County, NC, he was the son of the late Owen and Margaret English O'Kelley. Mr. O'Kelley was vice president of Outdoor Advertising in Daytona Beach, FL, member of the Moose Lodge in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Saluda, NC in 2006 coming from Orange City, FL. Locally he was known as "The Jerky Man". He attended Mountain Page Baptist Church in Saluda, NC. Mr. O'Kelley was an avid salesman and loved to travel.Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Gail Hoek O'Kelley; four sons and three daughters; one brother, James O'Kelley of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Owena Chambers of Sun City, AZ. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren.A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Mountain Page Baptist Church, Saluda, NC with Rev. Dean Elliott officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.At other times, the family will be at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or to Mountain Page Baptist Church, P.O.
