Donald Max Moran, 83 of Columbus, NC, died April 23, 2017 in Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. Born in Alamance Co., NC, he was the son of the late Winfred and Betty Lloyd Moran . Donald was the widow of Peggy Moran who died in 2016. He worked with the North Carolina Highway Patrol for 27 years before retiring in 1982. He had a love for bees, fishing, and rug making. Donald was a member of Lynn First Baptist Church.He is survived by; two sons Gary Moran (Mary) of Asheboro, NC and Kent Shehan. Two Daughters; Donna Nance (Rodney) of China Grove, NC and Kim Ravan (Michael) of Landrum, SC. Five Grandchildren; Hunter and Kilanna Nance, Dana Mosseller, Callie Ravan and Cody Ravan. Two great grand children; Braelin Mosseller and Amilya Grace Ravan.A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2:00pm in Polk Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Jesse Yarbrough officiating.The family will be at their respected homes.
