Columbus, NC - Donald Wayne Clarke, 69, of 144 Case Street, Columbus, NC died Friday, September 15. 2006 at his home. Born in Racine, WI, he was the son of the late Seymour and Nina Johnson Clarke. He was a Veteran having served in the U. S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. Mr. Clarke was a manufacturing engineer, retired from Parker Hanifin in Racine, WI. He and his wife moved to Polk County in l991 coming from Racine, WI. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Tryon, NC.Surviving are: his wife of 46 years, Sharon Buisse Clarke of the home; 3 sons Jeffrey W. Clarke (Diana) and Paul C. Clarke (Paula) both of Racine, WI and Wayne A. Clarke (Noreen) of Sharpsburg, GA; stepmother Edythe Clarke of Racine, WI; sister Joan Grgich (Walt) of Santa Clara, CA; brother Tom Clarke of Racine, WI. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2006 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Tryon, NC with Rev. Darvin A.
