Greenville, S.C. - Delsie Giles Johnson, 81, formerly of Green Creek, NC, died Friday, March 7, 2008, in St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Della Giles. She was the widow of Walter M. "Donnie" Johnson who died in 1988. Mrs. Johnson retired from Southern Bell Corporation where she was a regional supervisor after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren. Surviving are a sister, Thelma and several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 in Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren, Green Creek, NC with Rev. Earl Byers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren, 555 Melvin Hill Road, Columbus, NC 28722.
