Deborah Dixon Chirico, 88, of Landrum, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Deborah was the twelfth child of the late Archie Irvin and Pauline Geer Dixon. She served in the US NAVY. She went on to become an elementary school teacher and counselor until her retirement. Deborah obtained her Master's Degree in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her greatest joy in life was her flower garden, her dogs and her family. Deborah was a member of Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus, NC.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by all eleven of her siblings.
Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Chirico, Suzanne Chirico, Margaret Chirico and David Chirico; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus, NC officiated by Reverend Bobby Capps and Reverend Timothy Fortune.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The burial will be held following the service at Ridings Cemetery in Columbus, NC. Military Honors will be presented by the Polk County Veterans Honor Guard.
