David Peña, 61, of Mill Spring, passed away Friday evening, December 16, 2022 at Mission Hospital.Born in Mexico, he was the son of the late Jesus Peña and Graciela Rodriguez Peña. David came to America in 1974. During the years, he was a self-employed landscaper. He was a member of La Capilla De Santa Maria Church in Hendersonville. David was an all-around good man, he was the life of the party, dancing, singing and telling jokes.Surviving is his wife of thirty-nine years, Maria Mondragon Peña; three sons, David Peña, Jr of Tryon, Angel Peña (Angelica) of Inman and Danny Peña (Yaneli) of Fletcher; grandchildren include Adelyn, Erik, Noah and Matthew; three sisters, Anna, Araceli and Maria; two brothers, Jose Peña and Victor Peña.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Father Miguel Alvarez and Father Timothy Hoyt officiating.Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Tryon.
