—David R. Ketchens, 65, of Columbus, NC, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Mission Hospital, in Asheville, NC, following a brief illness. David was born and raised in the Atlanta, GA, area and graduated with a Business Degree from the University of Florida, later earning his MBA. He had a long career as a Hospital Facilities Director, retiring as AVP of Property Services from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, December, 2016; then served as Director of Facilities at Park Ridge Hospital in Hendersonville, NC, until his illness. He was the son of the late Betty Ketchens and brother of Ricky McClure and Steve Reed.He is survived by his wife, Donna Ketchens; his son, Shannon Ketchens; daughter in law, Tina Ketchens; daughter, Candice Ketchens; son, Jon Dye; daughter, Megan Blanton; and son in law, Bray Blanton.He was the proud grandfather of Micah Ketchens, Titus Ketchens, Sara Ketchens, Boze Blanton, and Banks Blanton. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Pastor Nathan Yoder officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.Burial will be private.
