David Wayne Holycross Sr ,68, of Mill Spring, passed away, Thursday evening, September 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family and his beloved dog, Cleo.David was a true fighter with incredible tenacity to never give up. He had Parkinson Disease for years. He fought a long and hard battle against it. He was a hard worker who loved his family Dearly. David was always fun to be with, he loved to talk, laugh, and have a good time. David was an Avid Motorcycle Rider who loved to ride his bike. He will be missed by all of us. He was a Great Man! We do have comfort in knowing he is with The Lord and his suffering is over.Surviving is his wife of 40 years Debra C Holycross, in addition to that, he was the son of Robert E. Holycross, Sr of Columbus, NC and the late Barbara Cochrane Holycross. he has two sons David W. Holycross, Jr (Yajie) and Daniel R Holycross (Ines); one daughter Bethany T. Holycross (Danny). One Grandson David Wu Holycross, a great niece, Molly Gurling, one brother, Robert E Holycross, Jr. and one sister, Margo Bonner (Todd), nieces and nephews Maggi Holycross (Jeremy) Austin Bonner (Kitty) Meg Colaianni (Dan) and his son by fate, William Gurling (Jennie). Along with all the Jensen family.A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., October 17, 2021, at Melvin Hill Church Cemetery with Reverend Craig Scruggs officiating.Memorials may be made to Melvin Hill Church.
