Columbus, NC -- David Boyd Blackwell, 59, of 64 Thistle Rd., Columbus, NC died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his home. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late R. C. and Mary Smith Blackwell. He was a graduate of Polk Central High School Class of 1968 and was an electrician. Surviving is his wife, Debbie Page Blackwell of the home. Three sons, Donald Blackwell of Lake Bowen, SC, Shane Blackwell and Robbie Blackwell both of Columbus, NC. Two brothers, Raymond Charles Blackwell of Columbus, NC and Clyde Lee Blackwell of Steadman, NC. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Natalie, Mackenzie, Emily, Cameron, Corey, David Styler. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Rev. Steve Price and Rev. Tony Priester officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
