David Lewis Blackwell, 73, of Seneca, passed away early on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Prisma Health in Greenville.David was born on March 25, 1949 in Polk County to the late Edna Watkins Bolt and Ray Blackwell. David was a graduate of Polk Central High School and went on to in the United States Marine Corps '68-'70 with one tour in Viet Nam. He worked for several decades in maintenance and construction for Duke Energy before retiring and starting his own business.
David was dedicated to providing for his family and serving his country.He is survived by his two sons, Jackson David Blackwell (Tabitha) and Clifton Ray Blackwell; four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Samantha, Abigail and Samuel; one brother, Samuel Blackwell (Louann); one sister, Cathy Wing.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel with Reverend Randy Smith officiating.Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project or Shriner's Hospitals.
