Saluda, NC—Daniel "Dan" Eugene McIe, 62, of Saluda, NC passed away at home on Friday, April 14, 2023.Dan was the son of the late Delbert McIe and Peggy Carpenter.  Dan was a man of many talents, he loved playing his guitar, a gifted artist with a passion for drawing and a skillful woodworker that made beautiful furniture.  He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Saluda, NC. Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Pennie Connor McIe; three daughters, Layla Fifer of Simpsonville, SC, Karla McIe of Saluda, NC and Brandy McIe of Saluda, NC; one son, Justin McIe, of Saluda, NC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Sue Vacek, of New York; one brother, David McIe of South Carolina and one niece, Melissa Vacek, of New York.  Dan also leaves behind his "pup" Fancy.A visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Curtis Pace officiating.
