Obituary
Cdr. Dale A. Vehorn USNR, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 of old age. He was 99 years old. He is survived by his wife, Marie L. Vehorn and his sister, Nan Milner. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debra L. Vehorn and sister, Mary Taylor. He came from a large family of six men and three women. Four of the men joined the Navy. Three of them became pilots. Dale flew transports most of his career, he also flew VIPs for four years and the Secretary of the Navy for two years. He saw a lot of the world. There will not be a funeral service. A small private graveside service for immediate family and invited guest will be held.
In addition to his wife and sister, surviving are his stepchildren, Sharon Johnston, Dwayne Nichols (Pam), Tim Nichols (Lori), John Heath, David Heath and step grandchildren, Justin Nichols (Zainab), Mason Nichols, Elizabeth Albritten, Joe Nichols, Annie Nichols. Also surviving are step great grandchildren, Malcom and Eli Albritten and Naya Nichols.
