TRYON, NC - Coinell Calvin Carson, 61, of Markham Road, Tryon, NC passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born in Tryon, NC, he was the son of the late George and Laura Eunice Parks Carson. He was a graduate of Tryon High School, St. Augustine College, Raleigh, NC. Mr. Carson was past employee of Bommer Industries, Landrum, SC. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity and volunteered for Hospice since 2003. Mr. Carson attended Ridgeville Baptist Church, Inman, SC.Surviving is his companion, Sharon Kirkendoll of Tryon, NC; two daughters, Jaleesa Kirkendoll of Tryon, NC and Akira Carson of Gaffney, SC; one son, Joshua Kirkendoll of Spartanburg, SC; two stepsons, Marcus Kirkendoll (Siberia) of Chesnee, SC and Kendall Kirkendoll (Carcenna) of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Mary Carson of Concord, NC, Lynn Brinson of Dayton, OH and Iola Waters of Hendersonville, NC; four brothers, twin brother, Alvin Carson of Tryon, NC, Michael Carson of Arlington, VA, Marshall Carson of Baltimore, MD and Thomas Carson of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Timothy Brown Sr. officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
