Clarence Eugene Barnette, 72, a resident of Homosassa, FL, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born January 12, 1945 in Polk County, NC to Joseph and Bertha Barnette, now deceased.Clarence was an over the road trucker. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, listening to Country music and watching NASCAR and Westerns. He is survived by his three loving children, Tammy Barnette and her partner (Tom Saffran) of Baltimore, MD, Lind Herd of Baltimore, MD and Cindy Bentley of Cape Coral, FL; one sister, Carolyn Mabry of NC; eleven grandchildren, Holly, Heather, Heidi, Timmy, Ryan, Jessica, Brandon, Destiny, Ricky, Aaron, and Brittani; seven great grandchildren, Arianna, Darrell, Peyton, Kieran, Alani, Hailey and Abigail. He is also survived by his wife Linda Barnette.Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Barnette.A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Polk County) with Rev. Warren Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
