TRYON, NC - Clara Hamilton Aldred died Saturday, November 25, 2006. Born in Thompsonville, CT on March 26, 1910. She and her late husband, Joseph L. Aldred moved to Tryon in 1958. Mrs. Aldred was a dedicated student of Early American Design and had been painting for almost 50 years. She had been a member of the Tryon Arts & Crafts. She leaves four children, Patricia (Thomas) Griffith of Greenville, NC, Elizabeth (Robert) Roberson of Naperville, IL, Nancy O'Donnell of Richmond, VA and Stephen Aldred of Tryon, NC. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Hamilton of Springfield, MA. Also 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Congregational Church of Christ, Tryon, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Dr, Reston VA 20190 or to Foothills Humane Society, P.O. Box 126, Tryon, NC 28782.
