Columbus, N.C. - Chuck Sellers Edwards, 52, of Park Street, Columbus, NC died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of Maggie Bridgeman Edwards of Columbus, NC and the late Doc Sellers Edwards. He was a graduate of Polk Central High School, Class of 1973 and was retired from the Polk County Sheriff Department after 27 ½ years of service. Mr. Edwards was of the Baptist faith. Surviving beside his mother is a son, Clint Edwards of Columbus, NC. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Robert Capps officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation 16-A Brozzini Court, Greenville, SC 29615. The family will be at the home, 105 Park Street, Columbus, NC 28722.
