Christopher James Stepp, 30, of Saluda, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday October 19, 2022.Born in Hendersonville on June 26, 1992, he was the son of Jennifer Willis Laughter of Saluda and the late of Daniel Laughter. Chris was a 2009 graduate of New Hope Homeschool. He was a former manager of Subway in Saluda and enjoyed fishing, hiking and cooking.Chris loved his family and friends.  He loved gathering together to spend time with them.  Chris was always there when someone needed him or tried his best to be.  He loved going on the family beach trip every year.  Chris loved going fishing with his buddies and was looking forward to going again.  He loved sibling time with his sister and tried to spend as much time with her as he could.  Chris loved his new baby niece Danni so very much, she had him wrapped around his finger and he was looking forward to spoiling her rotten.  He enjoyed hiking to clear his mind.  Chirs loved riding around in his truck and listening to music in his beloved truck.  Chris was a very good man, I'm so proud of him he will be missed and loved forevermore.In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Symantha Laughter of Edneyville; one niece, Danni Laughter; two aunts, Madeline Pace (Hobart) of Saluda and Betty Wilkinson (Ben) of Ellijay, GA; three uncles, Johnny Waldrop (Paula) of Etowah, Ricky Willis of Etowah and Johnny Willis (Ann) of Edneyville; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Moore (Carroll) of Dana.The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.Burial will follow in Saluda City Cemetery.The family has a  page set up to assist the family with funeral expenses.
