Obituary
COLUMBUS –
Christopher "Chris" Joseph Rome, 54, of Columbus, NC went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2025, after a hard fought battle with ALS.
He was the son of the late Warren Dennis Rome and Rebecca Ritchey Rome. Mr. Rome graduated from Polk Central High School and earned a criminal justice degree in 1998 from Isothermal College. He served as Police officer for both the Town of Columbus and Henderson County.
He is survived by his Aunt, Marion Jo Ritchey Lockhart (Delmos) of Spartanburg; cousins Donna Lazar (Jeff) of Wellford and Bruce Lockhart (Jan) of Greer. Also surviving is Susan Anderson, his faithful caregiver of Rutherford County, NC.
Graveside services will be held at Midway Baptist Church in Columbus, NC on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Randall Wood officiating.
The family will be in their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
