COLUMBUS, NC -- Charles Edward "Crash" Halford, 64, of 387 Keller Creek Rd., Columbus, NC, died Tuesday, November 06, 2007 at his home.Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of Clyde Halford of Columbus, NC and the late Garner Reid Halford. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. The owner and operator of Halford Backhoe and Grading Service. A veteran of the US Army having served in GermanySurviving in addition his father is his wife, Gail Edwards Halford of the home. Two sons, Duane E. Halford (Sherry) of Mill Spring, NC and Mitchell Halford of Asheville, NC. One brother, Ray Halford (Omye) of Campobello, SC and two sisters, Peggy Bulman (Tom) of Inman, SC and Carolyn Mills of Forest City, NC. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, November 10, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Rev. John Williams and Rev.
