Mill Spring, NC - Dr. Charles Perry Blomeley, 81, of Sylvan Lane, Mill Spring, NC passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his home.Born in Tampa, FL, he was the son of the late William Stanley and Ursalene Elzey Blomeley. A Veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Marine Corp., he later graduated from Washington Missionary College, Tacoma Park, MD and received his doctorate from Howard University Medical School in l965. Mr. & Mrs. Blomeley moved to Polk County in l966 to begin a practice with Dr. Roy Morgan. For 27 years Dr. Blomeley was the Medical Examiner for Polk County and was the Director of the Emergency Medical Services for l7 years. He was a member of the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church.Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Helen Wittschiebe Blomeley of the home; two sons, Kevin Blomeley (Jennifer) of Huntington Beach, CA, and Geoffrey Blomeley (Ashley) of Nashville, TN, and a daughter, Dr. Heather Blomeley, Capt. Of the U. S. Navy; two brothers, James Blomeley (Beverly) of Murietta, CA, and William Stanley Blomeley, Jr. (Evelyn) of Ellijay, GA.
