Obituary

COLUMBUS, NC - Cesarina Bianco Pearsons of Columbus, NC passed away, Thursday morning, February 1, 2007. A rich, full and blessed life was lived on this earth by Cesarina Bianco Pearsons. Born in 1919, she and her family emigrated from Turin, Italy, to the United States in 1921. Her family settled in Sagamore, Mass. on Cape Cod. During the Second World War, she met her future husband, Horace C. Pearsons, at Camp Edwards, while both were serving their country for the war effort. Horace and Chessy were married following the end of the war in August of 1945. They immediately set out for New York City where Mr. Pearsons pursued a successful career in Advertising design and production until 1963. During those years, Chessy kept very busy managing her household and raising their two children, Elaine and George. She worked for a time at Doubleday Publishing in Garden City, Long Island. The couple returning to Cape Cod in 1963 where they lived happily until Chessy relocated to North Carolina to live with Elaine following the passing of Horace in 2001. An elegant and vivacious lady, Chessy enjoyed and thrived on living life to the fullest. She took up the accordion, the bongos, rug hooking and bowling. Her passions were dancing, golf, gardening, weekly Bible study with her "ladies" and attending church. The Bourne High School class of 1937 was very dear to her heart and she faithfully attended all alumni gatherings. Of all the wonderful events of her life, the one that is most significant was the day she and her husband were born again. They received Jesus as their Lord and Savior in August of 1975. Life from that point forward became brighter and more exciting than ever. Her days, right up to her passing, were filled with our Savior's love and compassion. What a difference Jesus makes! Chessy is survived on this side of Heaven by loving, adoring friends and family: her daughter Elaine, from Columbus, NC, her son and daughter-in-law, George and Terri Pearsons, grandson Jeremy and granddaughter, Aubrey, all of Ft. Worth, TX. "Thank you" to all the dear people of Hospice who tended to every aspect of our needs during this phase of Chessy's life. Thanks to the marvelous "team" of caregivers in North Carolina who looked after Chessy as their own mother during the final days, to her classmates and friends in Sagamore, to the pastors and congregation of St. John's Episcopal church in Sandwich, Mass. and to The New Testament church in Cedarville, Mass. "Beyond the sunset a hand will guide me. To God the Father, whom I adore; His glorious presence, His words of welcome, Will be my portion on that fair shore." "Beyond the sunset, O glad reunion, With our dear loved ones who've gone before; In that fair homeland we'll know no parting. Beyond the sunset forevermore!" A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to the incredible and indispensable organization of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
