CARROLL P. ROGERS, IIINEWINGTON, CT-- Carroll P. Rogers, III, 67, of Newington, CT passed awayon May 25, 2006 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford CT. Born April 14, 1939 in Asheville, NC, Mr. Rogers attended The Asheville School and graduated from Lees McRae College, Banner Elk, NC and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. He was employed as an analytical chemist by The Feldspar Corporation, Middletown CT from 1961 through 1991 when the facility closed. He retired from H & R Block in 2004. A licensed commercial pilot, Mr. Rogers was very active in the Connecticut Civil Air Patrol for 32 years and served as a safety and communications specialist, attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kulig Rogers of Newington, CT; his mother and father Eleanor F. and Carroll P. Rogers, Jr. of Columbus, NC. One brother, William Z. Rogers of Cumming, GA. Two sisters, Eleanor R. Campbell of Inman, SC, and Margaret E. Rogers of Columbus, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Floyd Rogers. He was the grandson of Carroll Pickens Rogers, Sr. and Susan Erskine Rogers formerly of Tryon, and the Rev. George Floyd Rogers and Louisa Zimmer Rogers, formerly of Asheville, NC. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006 in the Tryon City Cemetery, Tryon, NC with the Rev. David Rose of Lancaster, NH and the Rev. Dr. Michael Doty officiating.
