MILL SPRING, NC - Carrie Lee Price Garrett, 84, of Hwy. 108 East, Mill Spring, NC died Tuesday evening, February 12, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Columbus, NC. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Colonel Blandon and Carrie Belle Thompson Price and widow of Glenn Garrett who died in 1999. Mrs. Garrett retired from Mill Spring School as Cafeteria Manager and was a member of the Bryant Womack-Ray Bradley VFW Post #10349 Auxiliary in Mill Spring, NC for many years. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul David Garrett who died in 1993. Surviving are one son, James Gosnell of Forest City, NC; three sisters, Pearl Covington and Gertrude Moore of Henrietta, NC and Dorothy McCarter of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving is one grandson, Chad Gosnell. A private service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 330 Carolina Drive, Tryon, NC 28782.
