LANDRUM, SC - Carolyn Denton Shehan, 64, of Landrum, SC passed away Wednesday evening, November 25, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, NC.Born in Tryon, NC, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth McAbee Denton. Mrs. Shehan retired from St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC after forty-two years of service as a Nurse. She was a member of Morgan Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Shehan was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.Surviving is her loving husband of forty-five years, Jessie Mack Shehan; one sister, Wanda Wilson (Pat) of Mill Spring, NC; two brothers, Bill Denton (Darlene) of Mill Spring, NC and Bobby Denton of Pawley's Island, SC; sister-in-law, Dayle O'Ham of Wilson, NC. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and the apple of her eye, her dogs, Zoe and Zach.A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Keith Stott and Rev. Robert Orr officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC.Memorials may be made to Steps to Hope, 60 Ward Street, Columbus, NC 28722.
