RUTHERFORDTON, NC - Carolyn "Carol" Ruth Keesbury, 61, Rutherfordton, NC died Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009 in Rutherford Hospital, Rutherfordton, NC.Born in Oak Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Mary Linken Ruggles. Mrs. Keesbury moved to Rutherford County, NC in 1998 coming from Defiance, OH. She was very active in the Catholic Church and was director of Faith Formation, Pastoral Association in St. John's Catholic Church, Tryon, NC for the past 4 years.Surviving are: her husband, Richard L. Keesbury, a son, Shawn Keesbury of Delta, OH; a step-sister, Betty McClaine of Montpelier, OH. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Breanna Keesbury. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane who died in 1972.A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 in the St. John's Catholic Church, Tryon, NC with Father Patrick Winslow officiating.The Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. with the family to receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church prior to the service.
