Cumming, GA - Caroline Sue James, 65, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Polk County, NC, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Spartanburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Delbert and Sally Isaacs James. She was married to Michael Zmick. Caroline was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Era, and she was later a private duty nurse. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. Surviving are three daughters, Sara Zmick of Landrum, SC, Alicia Gagman of CT, and Jessica Zmick of Spartanburg, SC; a son, Nathaniel James of Lake Lure, NC; a sister, Roanna James Guice ( Donnie ) of Hendersonville, NC; three brothers, Delbert James of Riverside, CA, David James of Riverside, CA, and Timothy James ( Cindy ) of Landrum, SC. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Riley Jo Zmick and Gauge Case, and a niece, Jayden Stewart. She was preceded in death by a sister, Debra James, and a brother, Daniel James. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family to help cover the cost of the funeral.
