Obituary

On February 12, 2025, Carol Louise Paige, age 80, died peacefully at home in Mill Spring, NC, in the warmth and presence of her beloved family; and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ enjoying her eternal home.

Carol was born and raised in Beaver Falls, PA. She graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL in 1966 with a degree in Christian education, and was married on June eleventh of the same year to her husband of almost fifty-nine years, Kurt R. Paige.

Kurt's career with the military eventually brought the family to the Indianapolis area for more than four decades and provided the opportunity to plant deep roots in this community. Their church family at Castleview Baptist Church, enriched both Kurt and Carol in many ways, including the loving kindness extended to the family during their youngest daughter Amy's extended illness and eventual death; as well as in the joyous celebration of their oldest daughter Lisa's wedding. Carol enjoyed serving with her husband in youth ministries during their younger years, then served as the church financial secretary; was blessed to be a part of women's Bible studies, and in general displayed a quiet strength and enduring faith that proved to encourage all whom she shared her life within this church body. Carol was a woman of humility, precision and excellence. Whether cooking and sewing for her family or just showing up early for her scheduled appointments, all was done in order and she could be depended upon. She loved others well in these ways to the glory of God.

After her children were in upper elementary school, Carol went back to school to acquire a degree in Accounting and took on several different work assignments over the years including employment as a comptroller for a small radio station in Noblesville, Indiana; then did similar work for the local Habitat for Humanity organization, and finally served as a senior accountant for the Indiana Youth Institute of Indianapolis.

After retirement, Kurt and Carol moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to follow their daughter and son-in-law in order to make active grandparenting a reality.

They enjoyed twelve years of life together there before again moving as a family to North Carolina.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Walter E. Neale, mother, Evelyn Louise Neale, and daughter Amy Nicole Paige.

She is survived by her husband, Kurt R. Paige, daughter Lisa Jean Jarrett, son-in-law, Patrick M. Jarrett, sister Patricia Marie Goodwin, sister-in-law Darlene Ruth Tregaskis, brother-in-law Col. Robert G. Tregaskis, sister-in-law Lynn Suzanne Howie, as well as four nieces, one nephew, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
