Carol Ann Foley (née Kaminski), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and community leader, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Tryon, North Carolina, at the age of 84.
Born on July 27, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, Carol was the daughter of Thomas and Helen Kaminski (née Wischerth). She was raised alongside her siblings, Thomas, Joan and John, in a household that valued hard work and close family ties. Carol carried these values throughout her life, creating a legacy of love, service, and integrity. Later, it was in Queens where she met her future husband, John Joseph Foley, Jr., during high school—a love story that would span more than six decades.
Carol's early career began in Manhattan, where she worked as a bookkeeper for the American Tobacco Company. After marrying and welcoming their first two children, Carol and John moved to eastern Long Island. With help from her parents, they purchased their first home and began building a life rooted in love, learning, and perseverance.
While raising her children, Carol returned to both work and school, rekindling her professional skills as a bookkeeper for a local dentist and a large printing and marketing firm. Her exceptional diligence and aptitude with numbers would define her professional identity across decades of service.
Later, she brought her financial acumen to Brammer & Associates in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she served as an associate accountant and bookkeeper. Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her career, Carol was deeply committed to community service. As Deputy District Governor of the Rotary Club of Stafford County, Virginia, she played a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission of service above self. Her leadership and dedication left an indelible mark on the community she cherished.
Family was the cornerstone of Carol's life. She shared 63 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John Joseph Foley, Jr. and together, they raised four children: Christopher, Brian, Patrick and Kathleen. Carol's nurturing spirit extended to her six grandchildren: Matthew, Timothy, Jacqueline, Aidan, Patrick and Caroline, and two great-grandchildren: Clara and Amelia, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Carol's life was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, resilience, and unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched and the community she served.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rotary Club of Stafford County, Virginia, in honor of Carol's lifelong commitment to service.
Carol Ann Foley's memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.
