Veronica "Button" Sweezy of Saluda, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, January 17, 2022 at the Elizabeth House following an extended illness.Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Jesse Sweezy; one son, Rusty Sweezy (Ginger) of Hendersonville; one brother, Michaux Newman of Simpsonville; one sister, Darla Newman of Greenville.She was preceded in death by a sister, Gypsy Awtry.The family will receive friends Monday, January 24, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A graveside will follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 in Saluda City Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, North Carolina 28731.
