Chattanooga, TN - Burley Champion, 64, of 116 Rolling Ridge Drive, Chattanooga, TN died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Marion and Irene Thompson Champion. He was the owner and operator of Champion Properties and had been a home builder for approximately 26 years. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN. Surviving are: his wife, Pamela Fischer Champion, a daughter, Leslie Champion and a son, John Champion, all of the home. Two brothers, Gene Champion (Doris) and Ronnie Champion (Brenda) both of Tryon, NC; two sisters, Diane Terceira of Tryon, NC and Susie Graves (John) of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are 7 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Johnny Yarboro officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday night March 17, 2007 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC. The family will be at the home of a sister, Diane Terceira, 317 Red Fox Road, Columbus, NC.
