Brenda Morris Bean died on August 26, 2026, in Polk County, NC. She was born in Mill Spring, NC on March 31, 1943, the daughter of the late Fred Alexander and Mary Ellen Fowler Morris. She was a graduate of Polk Central High School in 1961 and Cecil’s Business College, in 1963. Brenda was a member of Myers Park Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She served on the Board of Deacons, Chair of Women of the Church, President of the Women’s Circle, and President of Missionary Round Table. She is most proud of being a part of the group of women who needlepointed the cushions and kneelers for the church altar. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, John Phillips Bean, her granddaughter Clara Travieso, and her sisters Trivola “Pat” Morris Mathis and Sharon Morris Hardin. She is survived by her children John Phillips Bean, Jr (Carol Bates), Michael Avery Bean (Patricia), Michelle Williams Bean, David Eric Bean (Jennifer); their grandchildren Camron Young (Travis), Rene John Travieso (Nicole), Jonathon Bean, Caroline Roten (Josh), Andrew Bean, Samantha Bates, Hunter Bean (Katie), Grant Bean, Matthew Lerner, Sarah Lerner and Harrison Bean; and her great grandchildren Nash Young, Abigail Bean, Violet Travieso, Mila Travieso, and René Roten. Brenda is also survived by her siblings Jack Morris (Mary), Norma Jean Bowyer (Preston), Billy Morris (Linda), Danny Morris (Cindy), and brother in law Daryl Hardin, as well as nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Brenda’s memorial service will be at Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 10:00am. The interment will be at Pea Ridge Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 3:00pm.

Pall bearers will be John Travieso, Josh Roten, William Bartek, Jonathon Bean, Andrew Bean, Hunter Bean, Grant Bean, Harrison Bean, Nate Mathis, and Jake Mathis.
