Bob Costello, 72, of Mill Spring, North Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 11th, 2026. He transitioned from this earth way too soon, but we rejoice in knowing that we will see him again one day in heaven.
Bob, Robert Michael Anthony, Costello was born on June 15, 1953, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Louis and Jean Costello. He grew up in a loving home surrounded by 5 sisters. He graduated from Holy Cross Abbey high school and later earned a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of North Colorado.
He married Evon Miles in 1986. Together they built a life centered around faith, family and service. They have been faithful to many churches over the past 40 years. He actively led Sunday School and Bible study groups over his adult life. His deep love was evident in his involvement in the ministry and his passion for the Bible.
Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the nature that surrounded him. You could always find him working on a new project, piddling around the house, or playing in his shooting range in his back yard.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Evon Costello; his children Kelly (Kevin) Melton of Chapin, and William Costello of Columbia SC; and 4 beloved grandchildren: Taylor, Cade, Luke and Tyler. He is survived by his sisters Diana Pupich, Valorie Wolking, Rose Costello, and Kathy (Craig) Crosby. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeannie Costello, his sister Cynthia Trafton, and brother in laws George Pupich and Frank Wolking. His legacy will be cherished for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, and his relationship with the Lord, which he always shared.
A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, at 3:00 pm at McFarland Funeral Chapel and Crematory located at 54 McFarland Drive Tryon, North Carolina, 28782 . He will be cremated and laid to rest in Cripple Creek Colorado. Family will receive friends beginning at 2pm prior to the service.
Flowers may be sent to McFarland Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Prisma Health Midlands Foundation at 1600 Marion Street Columbia, SC 29201. Prismahealthmidlandsfoundation.org
