Obituary
TRYON –
Betty Joane Sutton, 94, of Tryon, passed away, Wednesday evening, January 17, 2024 at White Oak Manor of Tryon.
A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Broadus McKee and Leona Lynch McKee. She worked for many years as a Medical Technologist in Charlotte. After retirement, she returned to Polk County and was very involved with the local V.F.W. She enjoyed ceramics, china painting and an animal advocate. She was a member of Mill Spring First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Marion Sutton, Sr.
Surviving is one son, Henry M. Sutton, Jr. (Sherry) of Wingate, North Carolina; two daughters, Ann Jernigan (Alex) of West Jefferson, North Carolina and Sue Jones (Thomas) of Hellertown, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Private family funeral services will be held.
Burial will follow in Mill Spring First Baptist Church Cemetery.
