Spartanburg, SC—Betty Wallace Powell, 88, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Pacifica Senior Living in Spartanburg, SC.Betty was the daughter of the late Walter William Wallace and Ruth Cochran Wallace.  She worked as an administrative assistant for C&S Bank in Spartanburg, SC prior to her retirement.  Betty enjoyed sewing, square dancing and reading. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg. Most of all, Betty will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband David Powell. Betty is survived by a daughter, Kathryn East and husband Michael East of Lynchburg, VA; her son, Michael Powell and wife Shelli Powell of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Ann Wallace Fisher, of Columbus, NC; and her brother, William Wallace and wife Ann Wallace of Bellingham, WA.  Her grandchildren are Mathew, Rebecca, Sara and Emily. Also surviving are a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Services will be held at a later date and will be announced.Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg 419 E Main Street Spartanburg, SC 29302.
