Beatrice "Betty" Kathryn Harpt, 92, of Tryon, NC passed away, Saturday morning, January 27, 2018 at Smith Phayer Hospice House, Landrum, SC.Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Madeline Mosley Harpt. Miss Harpt served four years in the U.S. Navy before earning her Master's Degree. She was a librarian for Kutztown in Pennsylvania and retired to Tryon. Miss Harpt enjoyed History Classes at Isothermal Community College.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mahlon McFarland.Surviving are one brother, Charles Harpt and one nephew, Stanley McFarland.No services are planned.Memorials may be made to Foothills Humane Society, P.O.
