—Barbara Anne "Boo" Smith, 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Burke Palliative Care Center.Anne was the daughter of the late William M. and Barbara Shields Smith. She was employed for BASF in Morganton until it closed, she then went back to school and obtained a degree in horticulture. Anne then took a job at Lowe's in Morganton and worked for a number of years in the garden center. Anne was a kind and outgoing person and rarely met a stranger. She was known as a jack of all trades and often used her talents to help others in need. She loved to crochet and would donate her finished shawls to her cousin's prayer shawl ministry and would also give her crocheted projects as gifts to the people she loved. The highlight of Anne's life were her great nephews and great nieces. Surviving is her sister, Nancy Holloway, and her two daughters, Holly Coffey, her husband Neal Coffey and their children Zach and Mason and Katie McCurry, her husband Pat McCurry and their children Abby and Lily. Also surviving is her life long companion Tim Jones, and his two daughters, Kim Browning, her husband Heath Browning and their children Jessie and Justin and Pepper Dyer, her husband David Dyer and son Austin. In addition, there are many cousins and others that loved her.A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
