Tryon, NC - Arthur Eugene Morgan, 94, of Rippy Hill, Tryon, NC died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in White Oak Manor, Tryon, NC. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late William Ruben and Julia Metcalf Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He had been a Giddeon since 1968 and was a member of Tryon Second Baptist Church, Tryon, NC. Surviving are: one son, Kenneth Morgan of Homosassa, FL; one daughter, Barbara Gene Norman of Green Springs, OH; three half sisters, Donnie Pace of Saluda, NC, Marjorie Bell and Irene Bell both of East Flat Rock, NC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Dr. Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
