Columbus, NC- Arthur Augustus Chalmers, II, 92, of Laurel Lake Drive, Columbus, NC, passed away August, 12, 2009 in Willowbrooke Court at Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC. Born in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Ruth Warren and Harvey Chalmers, II. Mr. Chalmers was a graduate of Choate Prep School, attended Yale University and graduated from University of California-Davis. He retired as a self employed realtor in Schenectady, NY and was a member of the Schenectady Curling Club. Mr. Chalmers moved to Columbus, NC in 1992 and was a member of the Rotary Club and Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Tryon, NC. He is survived by: his wife, Virginia Woodson Chalmers of the home; one son, Harvey Chalmers (Virginia) of Rockville, MD; one daughter, Virginia Lee Chalmers of Bluffton, SC. Mr. Chalmers is also survived by two grandchildren. Memorials can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, P.O.
