COLUMBUS, NC - Anne Davidson Hoffman, 86, of Columbus, NC passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Fraser and Sadie Davidson and wife of the late Harry H. Hoffman who died in 1999. She moved to Polk County in 1987 from Long Island, NY where she had lived all her life. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Hoffman. Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Gannon of Charlotte, NC and Robert Gannon of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Dorothy Arnold of Hendersonville, NC and Mary McNally of Asheville, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews in New York. No local services are planned. Mrs. Hoffman will be sent to Donohue-Cecre Funeral Home in Westbury, NY for burial in Plain Lawn Cemetery in Hicksville, NY.
